ACTIVITIES - Clubs & Camps for kids/teens in Fargo

Brainy Ladies is in Fargo and likes to share the activities kids and teens can participate in, relating to STEM. There are quite a few summer camps that will be in the summer of 2019.  

 

uCodeGirl is one camp for girls interested in STEM careers. Every summer they host a camp for girls ages 8-16. All of the camps are one week to three weeks long. For about $400, girls will learn all about STEM. Through light up t-shirts, robots, drones, and more this camp will surely get your girl ready for STEM! More info here: ucodegirl.org 

 
DigiGirlz is another camp for girls interested in STEM careers. Every summer Microsoft hosts a camp for girls ages 13+. The camp is 3 days long and free! From networking to hands on, your girl will get into STEM fast! The camp features many ladies that are leading in STEM, along with mentors, speakers, and a competition at the end. 

 

First Lego Robotics is an after school club for boys and girls interested in Lego Robots. Each week, students will work on robotic projects, a problem to solve project, and more! This club really encourages students to use the 21st century skills when collaborating, creating, problem solving, and communication while working on a team. (offered at Discovery Middle School and many others! Check your school!) 

 

First Robotics is an after school club for boys and girls interested in robotics. Each week, students work on a robot to compete with at competition. They meet at the NDSU STEM Alliance Building. This club also encourages students to use the 21st century skills when working on a team. (offered at Discovery Middle School, Davies High School, and many more. Check your local school!) 

 

Science Olympiad is an after school club for boys and girls interested in science. Each week, students work on science projects to compete then at competitions in Valley City. The projects include hands on building and research, problem solving, and more! Students can collaborate when working on team projects, or individual experiments. (offered at Discovery Middle School, check your local school!) 

 

Math Counts is an after school club for boys and girls interested in math. Each week, students solve math problems and practice for competitions. At competitions, they’ll solve math problems and work on a team solving situations! Students will be sure to use their 21st century skills in Math Counts. (offered at Discovery Middle School)
